Ohhhh and Ahhhh Scrapbooking moments

Hello and Happy Middle of the week! yay!  Today I have a two page layout I am excited to share with you!  I was able to go to Archivers with my bestie Julie this past weekend and get some fun scrapping (really it's a lot of shopping, laughing, and munching... but I did squeeze in some crafting hehehe) done and this is one of the projects I finished while there!  I am a CAS kind of girl and I that's what I tend to make with scrapbooking and cards... and this double is no different.

(This is totally an ooohhh and ahhh moment, isn't that feather gorgeous?  LOVE these AC embellishments!)

I didn't make this with any challenges in mind ( mainly because I forgot to bring my paper with me that had a list and a copy of all of the various sketches out there ), but I am quite happy with just going on my own creative spirit... and lucky for me it's Anything Goes at Simon Says Stamp! : )

Thanks for stopping by and as always Happy Crafting!

IBSIC #46 and their Bow Challenge

Good day friends!  Today's post is a fun shabby chic card.  I don't typically make shabby chic cards because I don't think I have mastered that style of card... I tend to be a more CAS graphic kind of girl, but I sure do love looking at shabby chic cards and drooling over their beauty so I hope I've done some justice with this card today...

 Supplies:
Patterned Paper: MME
Dies: Fancy Label 1 (Inspired By Stamping) and Circle (Spellbinders)
Stamps: Inspired by Stamping
Ink: Memento (pink on circle), AMuse (light pink edging), and VersaMagic (brown on sentiment)
Ribbon: V's Sweet Ideas Crickle Ribbon in pink and a seafoam green ribbon from my stash (could get that seafoam green to really come through in the picture, sorry!)
Pins: The Girls Paperie (flag pin) and corsage pin
Flower: Inspired by Stamping

I used my new Fancy Label 1 Die ( Thank you so much JoAnna!) to make my own large label out of the cream paper by only cutting the top part of the die on both the bottom and top of the cream.  I also used my new IBS Cute Circles Stamp set, and my double bow was made after I watched a fun tutorial made by Joanna at IBS!  I kept my design a little more simple, but that seems to just be my style, and I thank you so much for stopping by to check this out!

I am entering this into the IBS Bow Challenge and the IBSIC #46 color challenge:

2nd Guest Designer Post for Market Street Stamps

Hello, I am so happy you are back for my second post here at Market Street Stamps!  Today's post is another fun one with two cards that hopefully show you new and fun ideas of how you can use your Market Street Stamps.  For my first card let's start with a little sparkle!

I used the Here Comes the Sun background stamp as the star of this card.  I first stamped the sentiment (from Simple Salutations) on the cardbase.  I then stamped Here Comes the Sun on a white rectangle, lined it up next to the sentiment on and made little pencil marks on where to cut a strip out of the background.  To match the fun sentiment on this card I had to use a little bling so out came the glue pen and glitter!  I then used foam strips to adhere the background stamp pieces above and below the sentiment and viola!

My next card uses the back of the stamp as a background as seen here...

I first stamped the back side of the Doily stamp onto paper with a lighter colored ink, and then stamped the doily image over top of it before fussy cutting it out.  I love the result and the tone on tone look.  I then ran the top part of a 4 x 5 1/4" white piece of cardstock through my Cuttlebug with an embossing folder, and stamped my sentiment on the bottom ( isn't that font so crisp and fun?!).  I matted it with black and added some fun twine and embellishments before mounting my doily with foam squares.  Finally, I adhered it to the cardbase and said "awwww!"
(I'm also entering this last card in the Paper Girls Challenge: Use Twine)

Thank you again to the wonderful people at Market Street Stamps, especially to Jorge and Angelica Suarez who gave me this amazing opportunity and to Stephanie for getting this post up and running for you all!  Please stop by and visit me soon!

Guest Designing for Market Street Stamps! eeekkk!!!

Hello!  I am so very honored and thrilled to be guest designing today at Market Street Stamps!  Thank you so very much Jorge, Angelica, and the Market Street team for this amazing opportunity!  Here's a little bit about me... My name is Lisa Lahiff a.k.a. Mommy to two little ones, Hun to one handsome husband of six years, and Lisa from Lisa's Creative Niche in blogland.  I have a bachelors degree in Music Therapy from the University of Dayton, but am now enjoying my role as a SAHM, and I also watch my two nephews.  I have loved crafting since I was a little girl, but didn't begin scrapbooking until 2005.  When I found the blog world I just knew I had to try card making, and now I can't get enough of either of them!

I LOVED playing with my Market Street Stamps for my posts, and can't wait to show what I've made, so let's get to it!  For my first card, I wanted to share something happy, bright, and fun... so I pulled out my Here Comes the Sun and Argyle background stamps with Simple Salutations.

Doesn't this background just scream happiness?!  For this card I used a kissing technique.  By stamping the two background stamps in two different colored inks and "kissing" them together I was able to get this great and unique result.  Another tip for my sentiment: I didn't have an exact match to the yellow ink color I had used for the sun so I made a pennant out of white paper and then stamped the ink pad itself onto the paper.  I then finished this card with some fun rhinestones!

For my next card I had to make a card for Valentine's Day since it is getting close... so I used the Here Comes the Sun background stamp and Simple Salutations again and busted out my Riding By stamp set to make this...

Turning the background stamp on it's side and using non "sun" colors really makes it look like a whole new stamp!  A fussy cut and colored bike popped up with hearts and pink twine totally spells L-O-V-E my friends!
(I am also entering this last card into the Paper Girls Challenge: Use Twine)

Thank you so much for stopping by for my first post as Guest Designer, and I hope to see you stop by my blog as well!  Now get creating with your Market Street Stamps!
