Latte Birthday Wishes

Hello!  You will find me here and on the Mint Owl Studio Blog today and I have a card that I've created based on the latest Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.  Did you know that Mint Owl Studio is one of the Super Sponsors for this hop?!  LOVE it!  Also there is a special code you can use to get 20% off your total purchase right now, just enter COFFEE when checking out!  Now here is the watercolor postcard I've created with the Coffee Craze Stamp set...

When I think of seasonal projects I think of colors and while I don't have a huge selection of Magical Powders I did pull out my blue, orange and green colors that jumped out as fall to me.  The magical powders are fun to work with in various ways and I chose a very artsy and loose technique by simply sprinkling the powders in the general areas that I wanted them to be after my images were embossed. I then spritzed with water and let the "magic" happen!  I love the way you get a mix of colors from each powder by using this technique, but be aware that this technique is not something you have a lot of control over and sometimes things can get a bit messy.  I love the results and think its so fun to watch the colors change and swirl together.

Fall Framing...

Hello, hello!  I am up on the CutCardstock.com blog today sharing a perfect for fall card...

To create this card I started by die-cutting my frame from Curious Metallic card stock and then diecut lots of leaves from the a mix of Curious Metallic and Gold Foil Card stock.  I then chose to add the leaves along only one corner of the frame, as I didn't want the card to look too busy.  I then stamped and heat embossed my thanks sentiment from one of my Essentials by Ellen sets in the middle of the frame.

I am also linking this up to the CASology Challenge: Frame

Clean and Simple for Christmas

Hello!  I am here and on the Mint Owl Studio Blog sharing a CAS Christmas card using the new Trim The Tree Stamp Set...

To create this card I started with a panel that I stamped the tree branch image onto repeatedly.  I then sprayed this panel with two different green mists and one pearl mist.  I then set this to the side to dry. I stamped, colored and cut the ornament images.  Once everything was dry I layered the images up onto kraft card stock.  I decided to emboss the sentiment in gold in the lower right corner and finished the card off with gold washi and a twine bow.

All new products are now available in the Mint Owl Studio Shop!

10 Minute Craft Dash...

It's baaaaaaaackkkk!!!! eeeekkk!!!  Ok, well it's only back temporarily, but I was still super stoked when I saw it on the Altenew Challenge Blog Hop, because I loved this challenge!  It was perfect for when I just needed to create something quick, for fun, or just to get my mojo going again.  Any who, I had to play along with the 10 Minute Craft Dash so here is what I've created...

Ok, now that 15 shown on the phone was 15 seconds left so it took me 9 mins and 45 seconds to create both of these tags.  It was sooooo close and totally freaked me out motivated me to work fast, lol!  To get this done in time I started by stamping one tag and then the other.  I played all of my images and sentiment onto one tag at a time and with the help of the mists was able to stamp it all at once.  I then inked my mat with distress inks and sprayed them, smooshing the tag into the inks using different inks for each tag.  I finished them off with clear sequins, and I'm so excited for my kids to use these as bookmarks... the sentiment is exactly what I want them to think... "Don't let anyone take you for granted, always hold your head up high, Never stop believing in yourself, just go forward and aim for the skies!"

Getting a Little Messy...

Hi!  Today I am sharing some projects I've made for a few challenges, yay!  I decided to get a little messy and pull out some mists, a stencil, some embossing paste, stamps and dies to create this...

I was inspired by the STAMPlorations CutPlorations link party, the STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday Challenge and the Virginia's View Challenge: Spray, Mist and Splatter.

To create this tag I started by cutting the tag, then I went over it with embossing paste and the Just Squares Stencil.  I then sprayed the background randomly with some of my favorite colors.  Plus I just love the sine of these mists!  The "awesome" was die cut from gold foil paper and layered with foam adhesive.  I finally stamped the "You Are" from the Sentiment Builders: Happy Stamp Set in white ink on black paper.

DIY Project Stack: Mini Album

Hello wonderful crafty friends!  I am popping in today to share a mini album I was able to whip together thanks to the new DIY Project Stack: Mini Album available at Michaels by DCWV.  I apologize that this post may seem photo heavy, but i just love all of the great embellishments and papers that came in this kit so I wanted to see what all you would get when you go to buy yours...

For the front cover I chose the hooray paper, I then added some of the gold heart stickers that come in the stack and die cut a piece of the gold foil also in the stack.  To hold it all together I simple punched a hole at the top of each page and looped it with a binder ring.  I used some charms from Blue Moon Beads to dress up my binder ring and to make it more personal.  These charms are available at your local JoAnns Store.

I love how some of the sheets are acetate with gold foil printed on them, it really dresses up a photo that is peeking out from behind.  On the other page I used one of the gold foil hearts to go across the bottom of my photo, since the sticker has a clear backing it blends in beautifully to the background.

Adding foam adhesive under some of the embellishments really helps to add dimension.

And finally you see here that I have used another acetate sheet that has a gorgeous floral design printed onto it.  This is laying over gold stickers that I used to dress up one of the patterned papers.  (All of these things are a part of the stack!)

As you can see there are a lot of goodies in this one DIY Project Stack, and it all goes together very quickly.  I was able to make this whole mini album in one afternoon!  We can't wait to see what you fill your mini album with, and how you personalize yours to tell your own story... feel free to share with us on any of our social media sites!  Find more inspiration on the DCWV Blog daily!

Even When Sick...

Hi!  I have a layout to share with you today that I've created based on the recent Stuck?! Sketches Challenge.  This is a big challenge as they are celebrating their anniversary with lots of sponsors this month and I LOVED the sketch they gave us to create with...

And here is what I've created...

To create this layout I've used a mix of a few Hip Kit Club Kits and I really love it!  I know it may seem weird to using bright colors when scrapping about someone being sick, but I felt like the brighter colors really brought out the colors in the photo and helped to draw the eye in.

Callin' All Sistahs Hop: Girl Power

Hello!!!  It is that time of the month where we gently remind you to perform your monthly breast exam, inspire you with fun projects, and entice you with great giveaways!!! YAY!!!  All of this wonderfulness is sponsored by CAS-ual Friday Stamps, where the amazing owner/designer then donates 50% of the profits from the Callin' All Sistah's product line to Nationalbreastcancer.org.

This month we are all about Girl Power, and here is what I've created for the hop...

To create this card I started with the Fight like a sentiment from the Callin' All Sistahs Stamp Set and stamped it repeatedly close to the bottom of my panel.  I then added a die cut Girl in pink from the Sistahs Fri-dies set and adhered it right about the stamped sentiment.  I then finished it all off with some seuquins and foiled vellum by DCWV.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and don't forget to visit the rest of the blogs in the hop for your chance to win 1 of 3 $15 gift cards, yay!

Mint Owl Studio September Release Hop *Giveaway Too*

Hello and Happy Hop Day!!! I love when it's time to reveal new stamps with a little fun, inspiration, and of course a giveaway so make sure you read down to the end of the post for more details on that! I have created a Holiday Card with a fun background using the soon to be released Christmas Quilt mask and the Cardinal Greetings Stamp set...

To create this card I started with a panel of patterned paper and went over the mask with a Versamark ink pad.  I then added clear embossing powder and heat set it.  I then went over the entire panel with a green and black distress inks.  Finally I used a damp cloth to wipe the ink off of the embossed areas to help the design pop.  The sentiment was then stamped and embossed with white embossing powder onto black card stock.  I popped this up with some foam adhesive onto a die cut vellum star and some gold thread.  A few star sequins and a glitter gold panel pulled it all together.

This release is so much fun and I just know you are going to love it too!  Make sure you stop by the Mint Owl Studio Blog for a look at the full release!  Now onto some giveaway details...

We're also giving away the entire new stamp release!  Want to know how to win?  All you have to do is comment on this blog and each of the blogs on the hop.  The winner will be randomly chosen from one of the blogs, so the more blogs you comment on, the better your chance is to win!  Good luck!

Texturizing with Lawn Fawn

Hello!  I am popping in a second time today to share a card I've made for some fun challenges!  This does not happen often, but when I get a second to play I try to take advantage of it.  ( Scroll down for my first post of the day )  And since I haven't played with my Lawn Fawn goodies in a while, I knew it was time to fix that situation and I created this...

This card has lots of fun texture: 1. burlap die cut circle, 2. cork for the pumpkins, 3. glitter for the leaf and the ground, 4. colored texture in the ground with Copic Markers.  It was fun to do something different and I hope you've been inspired to add some texture to your next project!

STAMPlorations CAS Challenge Take 2

Hello!  I am back with my reminder post for this month's STAMPlorations CAS Challenge.  I hope you are having fun playing along so far this month!  We added the twist of pink this time around and here is my second take on the challenge...

To create this card I started by stamping my flowers in the lower right hand corner with a waterproof ink.  I then used my distress markers to watercolor the image.  Next, I added the sentiment, and lined the left side of the card with a mix of patterned paper and washi tapes.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I can't wait to see your projects for this month's challenge!  Remember all products are welcome :)

Mint Owl Studio September Reveal...

Oh how I love this new and super cute set by Mint Owl Studio that will be available for you to purchase this weekend.  I had so much fun creating this sweet Christmas scene for todays stamp reveal of the new Away in a Manger Stamp Set...

To create this card I started by masking off my background and using various distress inks to create the shine for the star and the night scene around it.  I also did a mix of Masking fluid and white color misting for the white stars in the background.  I then stamped all of my characters and colored them in with various Copic Markers.  After I cut everything out I added them to my "sand" adhering the people with foam adhesive for dimension and the rest of Tombow Mono-liquid Glue.

And doesn't that sentiment just make you think of Charlie Brown?  I Just love when Linus stands on the stage and explains what Christmas is really about, it melts my heart every time.  So I am linking this up to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: At the Movies

Make sure you pop over to their blog to see the full reveal of this stamp set!

Autumn... Home Decor

Hello crafty friends!  Today I am here and on the CutCardstock.com Blog sharing a quick and easy home decor item that I've made with various card stocks and my Cricut® Explore Machine...

I chose to work with Curious Metallic Mandarin, Bright Goil Foil, and Basis Brown Card stock.  Next, I chose my cuts from the Stretch Your Imagination Cartridge and cut everything out.

I then trimmed the card base cut in half and layered everything together with Tombow Mono Liquid Glue.

To add a little dimension I popped this up on White Basis Card stock with foam adhesive and placed it in my frame with a few extra leaf cuts...

Super simple, but looks so pretty on my shelving in the living room, just in time for Fall!

Happy Crafting and thanks for stopping by!

Hello!  Today you will find me on the Mint Owl Studio Blog where I am sharing a super fun Birthday Shaker card, check it out...

To create this card I started by die cutting all of the pieces I would need from the Packaged Pretty Dies to create the shaker gift box.  Once that was put together I set it aside and stamped a strip of stars from the Birthday Bash set in yellow.  I then adhered the present and stamped the sentiment from the Party Pals set.
