DCWV/ May Arts Challenge Project * You get to vote too!

* Voting instruction go here... please take some time to support your fellow crafters and vote!!!

Hello!  I am so very excited to share today's project with you, because I am one of the twenty-five people choosen to take part in the DCWV/May Arts Challenge!  I had so much fun working with these two companies products and with how prominent they are in our community I am sure you know all about them too!

For the challenge we were given half a stack of the Snapshot Stack and one yard of four various ribbons/trims.  My project idea was to create a "frame banner" for lack of a better title, and here is what I created...

And I have also created a photo tutorial so you can create your own:

First, I found a frame at a second hand store and I spray painted it white.

I came up with a title so I knew how many pennants I would have on the inside of the frame, and to base my sizing of everything. My next step was to choose which paper to use for my pennants and I cut mine out using my Cricut Expression and B is for Boy Cartridge.

Since the Snapshot Stack had a wonderful paper of blank Polaroids I knew I decided to put my pictures "inside" of them.

I then sewed on pockets with cut up strips of blue patterned paper and the white crochet ribbon along the bottom.  I  glued my title on by attaching one word to each pennant.

That's when the fun of fussy cutting came into play as I picked and chose which embellishments I wanted to cut off of various papers in the pack and where to place them.  I also added the various ribbons in throughout the pennants.

To jazz up my frame I created a fan flower by simply looping the black crochet ribbon and hot gluing between each loop.  I top my flower off with a shiny brad and string bow.  ( I later went back and added another knot bow in the yellow chevron ribbon for a fuller look )

I went with a more modern touch to connect my pennants by simply connecting paperclips together and to each pennant, they just seemed to go with the stack and the overall feel of the project.

Viola!

Thank you so very much for stopping by and for your support it means the world!

**Make sure you head over to cast your vote and to see what the other challengers have created!!!**

Have a great day and Happy Crafting!
