Cuttin' and Stampin' DT Blog Hop

Can you believe Cuttin' and Stmpin" Challenge Blog has been going for over a year now? It has gone by so fast and we have had so much fun creating and sharing projects with you. Starting the first of the year we decided to make a few changes. These changes include bringing you different types of projects, and to do that we needed increase the number of members on the team. We also decided to split the team in to two.

Today we are introducing the GreenTeam. And since I am on the green team I am so excited to share my layout with you...

A Girly Girl Layout

One Little Word Layout... a first for me

Happy Monday!!!  I know I might be a bit behind in the times, but I have a one little word layout to share with you all today...  I wasn't sure that I would make a layout or anything about my one little word for this year, because to be honest I'd never really come up with a word before, and to share my word seemed scary.  But when I saw the challenge #23 at S.W.A.T being One Little Word 2014, and there were so many other ladies sharing their words I put my big girl scrap pants on and got to work...

I also based this layout on the Creative Scrappers Sketch #260, and I was pretty free with the sketch itself...

This is the most journaling I've ever done on a layout, and it took a lot of convincing myself to just go for it.  For one I can't stand my handwriting, so I try to keep it to a minimum, but it was only fitting that a layout about me would have a ton of writing... and told tell myself I told you this, but I like it!

A Christmas Layout without the Christmas Paper

Happy Friday!  Ugh, I'm seriously beginning to wonder if I'm ever going to be able to come down the steps in the morning and not shiver from this unending cold blast again!  Anywho, I know Christmas is long over, but you might still being seeing a few layouts on my blog... what can I say, sometimes I'm a photo jumper hehehehe!  So today I wanted to share this layout I had made using the Fancy Pants Happy Go Lucky Collection... a completely non-Christmas themed line, that surprisingly keeps my page still looking very traditional!

I also made this layout based on one of the My Scrap Friends Tic - Tac- Toe Challenge - I used corrugated cardboard, mist, and arrows (my arrow is created out of enamel dots in the top left corner, tricky tricky eh?).  Well I hope you have a very wonderful weekend and fingers crossed we get out of the negatives soon!

Owl always be here for you...

When I saw there was a new challenge posted at Clearly Besotted it was a no brainer that I had to play along... and I also wanted to challenge myself by experimenting with some water colors (ink drops watered down) and stamps, so viola....

I really like the results... I started by placing drops of ink on a clear stamp block.  I spritzed them with lots of water.  I also spritzed my watercolor paper first and then took the inks to the paper via paintbrush.  Next I stamped the heart image into each different "watercolor" and stamped them directly onto the paper.  I wasn't sure how this would turn out, but it worked out well!  *Tip - I stamped the image off once or twice each time before stamping onto my paper.  For the smaller label die I simply dripped ink, spritzed them and layed the label die right onto it, then let it dry.

I have also based this card on the CAS(E) Sketch Challenge #60, CAS on Sunday: Lovey Dovey, and the Hiding in My Craft Room Clean and Simple Challenge.

Floral Dimension - TAWS

On Your Special Day... WPlus9 Mood Board

I haven't done much just crafting for me lately, so when my new goodies from JoAnn's arrived today and then I saw the WPlus9 Mood Board on Facebook it was like a sign... or I could just be seeing what I want hehehehe!  Let's go with the first one though, shall we?  Here is my little beauty...

The mood board that inspired me:

Now I have to say at first I wasn't sure how all of the colors I had put together would work, but I LOVE it!  I based my card from the gold and silver seen through out the photo and instead of using them in a chevron pattern I added them as stripes.  Then if you see the circle banner towards the bottom with some yellow, that was my inspiration for the circle shaker frame.  Add some pretty sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and some WPlus9 Stamps... boom!  (side note some of my new goodies included two of the memento luxe inks... and lets just say I want them all now, they are ah-mazing!)

SweetStamps.com Monthly Technique Challenge

It's hump dayyyyyy!!!  Woo hoo!!! And because it is the 15th of the month it is also Technique Challenge time at SweetStamps.com... this month the challenge is Kissing Technique.  I love this technique because it is quick, simple and gives new life to your stamps!  Here is my take on the challenge:

In my card I have kissed the dress stamp with a script stamp going vertically. (This can me seen in the darker pinks on the dress)

How to do the Kissing Technique:
It works best when one of the stamps you are using is full stamp (sihouettes work great for this), and then you can use any other type of stamp you wish.  It's helpful if the full stamp is smaller than the other stamp you are going to "kiss" it with, but is not neccessary.  You then ink up both stamps in different ink colors, bring them together (kiss them together), and then stamp the full image stamp onto your paper.
