MarkerPOP Challenge: Watercoloring Animals/People
Honey, I'm homeeeee!!! Hi! Today I'm popping in to share a fun watercolor card that I've created based on the newest MarkerPOP Challenge! You are going to want to join us as there are some awesome giveaways going on, as well as some incredible inspiration all month long featuring watercoloring!!! This time we are challenging you to watercolor animals or people...
And here is what I've created...
This card is featuring the Gerda Steiner Designs Koalafied Stamp Set. This is a new to MarkerPOP Stamp Company, and they have some super cute critter sets! I used my Distress Markers this time for watercoloring the critters and tree and then for my background I have used my Gansai Tambi Watercolor Set. This set is a must have in my book, and the best thing is that it comes in several different sizes so you can buy to fit your needs!
For my card I have also used a mix of water on water technique and the dry to wet technique. I love them both for various reasons. The wet on wet is great for covering larger spaces quickly as well as for areas that you are going to layer color onto color. The dry to wet technique is best for adding fine details, or for having more control over the watercolors themselves.
Now it's your turn! Make sure you head over to the blog for full details, more inspiration, and giveaway goodness!
Happy Crafting!

Totally Sweet Birthday with CAS-ual Fridays Stamps
Hi! Did you have a nice weekend? My youngest was sick this weekend, so it mainly consisted of cuddles with her and my son's karate testing, but I did get some crafting in with some of the new CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. Speaking of new stamps, did you see them all and enjoy our blog hop this weekend? Talk about awesome inspiration! Check out the hop here! Today I am back up on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog sharing this fun masculine/teen card...
To create this card I started by coloring in the large diamond border and smaller diamond border from the Modern Petals set with my Tombow Markers. I then stamped the sentiments from the Rad Stamp Set with Versafine Ink. Next I spritzed the bottom half of the card with water and dried the excess with a paper towel. For a more cohesive look I added splashes of matching ink colors over the entire front panel. I then adhered this to some black and white patterned paper, and used a metal embellishment and some enamel dots.
See some new goodies you just have to have? Use this code to save 15%:

Foiled Hello with Crafters Companion
Earlier this month I was so excited to be able to share that I am now a Design Team Member for Crafters Companion USA! YAY!!! And today I am sharing my first post using lots of newer Crafters Companion Products...
This card was created using the Die-sire Mixed Media Dies: Mixed Media Spring Flowers, Mixed Media Gift Tags, Mixed Media Autumn Leaves, and Luxury Cardstock: Ice Blue. I have also used the new Crafters Companion Foil Roll 4 pack Brights available on HSN and the Crafters Companion Foil Transfer Starter Kit.
Now let me just tell you that if you love foil the new Foil Transfer Starter Kit is a MUST HAVE! You do not need any machines, no heat just the transfers and the foil and viola! You will have yourself a perfect foiled image every time! I've also taken some step by step photos on how easy this foiled tag came together:
1. First cut out the specific image/sentiment to be foiled, as well as the foil color.
3. Apply foil colored side up by laying it over the image and rubbing again with the stick provided in the kit or your finger.
4. Slowly remove the foil to reveal the newly foiled design/sentiment.
For the rest of my card I had used a mix of gesso and gellatos to add color to my flower die cuts, and layered all of this together onto some white cardstock and a panel of glitter cardstock from the Luxury Cardstick: Ice Blue Pack.
