This beautiful set, along with the rest of the new release, are available now!  So hurry and grab your favorites before they sell out!  And don't forget my discount code:

Winnie & Walter Leading Lady: Make New Friends but Keep the Old

Do you remember that song that others might have sang to you as a child? Make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver and the other is gold.  I have to admit that I sing it to my children occasionally, and it always makes us smile.  It's a wonderful reminder to us that while new things are fun and exciting, older things should not be tossed aside as they may still be reliable, trusted and cherished.  I feel this can be applied to crafting as well.  There are always so many wonderful new products that we can't wait to get our hands on (and for good reason to!), but we shouldn't forget about those oldies but goodies, and it's fun to mix the two.  So for my final post as Leading Lady I'm going to share a few ways I mixed so many great new products with some of my older stained and loved Winnie and Walter goodies.

My first project is also a case(ing) of one of my older projects.  I love the look of inlaid die cutting, and the Mini Scenery: Bed of Roses Stamp Set is the perfect to set to die cut sentiments into...

For this new version of the card I decided to also use a spotlight technique, and colored in the outer parts of the die cut word with bright colors and I kept the sentiment (from the In a Word: Cuddles Cutaway)  monotone with grey.

I think this helps the sentiment stand out a little more, and it also draws the eye in.  I also used the Essentials: Lana Cutaway to frame the panel.  And here's a look at the project I had case(d) this card from just so you can compare the two.

My second project(s) are mini in size, but pack a cute punch...

Every day I send notes in my kids' lunch bags.  Sometimes they are just to send a smile, to build them up if I know they've hit a rough patch, or to let them know I'm thinking of them.  These mini cards are the perfect size to do just that!  For these cards I've mixed the older Ring in the Celebration Stamp Set with the newer Dog-gone Cute with Evelin T Designs Stamp and Cutaways and the Purrfect with Evelin T Designs Stamp and Cutaways.

To color these fur babies in I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and I was so excited on how the fur turned out.  I normally have a hard time achieving a fur look on my animals, but the thin brush tip on these markers made it super easy.  The rest of the cards were colored with Distress Ink, and a few enamel dots on each finished them off.

This next project shows off another super cute kitty from the Purrfect with Evelin T Designs Stamp and Cutaways in a fun way...

I've used the older True Multifaceted Star Cutaway as a play toy for this cute kitty.  And I finished the card off with a sentiment and stars from the Wishing You with Evelin T Designs Set.

For my final project I've taken it off the page and I wanted to share a sweet wooden tag/ornament that is sure to please the recipient or to brighten any spot in your own home...

In one of my earlier posts this month I showed coloring on wood veneer, not I'm showing stamping and coloring onto a wood slice!  Colored pencils are the key to these adorable tags.  I actually created some of these a few weeks ago using the LS Exclusives: So Tweet with Evelin T Designs Stamp Set and added them onto gift bags.  It was like giving a gift on a gift!  For the above example I used a sentiment from the In a Word: Love Stamp Set and regular Dye Ink.

And there you have it!  My final project as a leading lady for the month of March.  I can not thank Shay enough for having me, and letting me share some of my projects with all of you.  And thank you to all who have come to visit, check my projects out, and have left such kind words for me.
And don't forget to leave a comment on todays post for a last entry into my giveaway.

And if you leave comments on any cooresponding instagram posts you will get an extra entry! :)
And as my title to this post indicated I hope I've made some new friends and delighted some old friends along the way.

A Muse Studio Release: Hip Hip Hooray!

Hi!  Are you having a good week so far?  I've been having a blast playing with the new A Muse Studio goodies that will be available at the end of this week for you to buy! YAY!!!  Today I am playing with the Hip Hip Hooray Stamp Set, this set is small with two images and a sentiment, but I love finding as many ways as possible to use sets like this for a bigger bang for your buck.

To create this card I started by stamping the cake and cupcake images all over watercolor cardstock to create a fun background.  To color the images in I used my Zig Color Clean Markers and then added water to blend the color out.   For the sentiment I stamped and embossed it with White Embossing powder onto Onyx Cardstock.  I then adhered the panel to the Onyx Cardbase.

Did I mention that this set is your FREE with any $50 purchase?!  Awesome!!!!

STAMPlorations CAS Challenge Reminder

Hi again!  If you are looking for my CAS-ual Friday Release post click here, thank you!  Now I'm popping in with a reminder post to join the STAMPlorations Clean and Simple Challenge.  This is a month long challenge that you will find posted in the first week of every month.  You are allowed to use any products in our challenges too, just no posts promoting a specific brand please.  You can find full rules here.  And this month we are offering the twist of the color Orange.  Here is what I've created...

To create this card I've used the Many Blessings Stamps and Coordinating Dies, Fond Expressions Stamp set, as well as a retired Artplorations Woodgrain Stencil.  The stenciled background was spritzed with Heidi Swapp Color Shine and set to the side to dry.  I then stamped the image with Versafine Ink and used my Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color it in.  I then stamped the sentiment in Brown ink and adhered it all together.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope to see you join in our challenges!

CAS-ual Friday's Sneak Peek Day 1

Hello!  Today's sneak peek for CAS-ual Friday's new release starts off with a real bang if you ask me.  The stamp set we are sharing today is called Flower Case, and I love the sweet letters that are the perfect size for personalizing just about anything!  Take a peek at what I've created...

Isn't it so much fun!  I love that I was able to add my daugter's name right to the front of this card for her. (Not to mention how excited she was when she saw her name on it.)  To create this card I started by stamping the letters in Versamark Ink and embossing them with a glittery purple embossing powder.  Next, I added a rainbow of colors with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a water brush.  I also painted a shadow effect with a grey color around the letters to really help the stand off the panel.  After this had dried I stamped the rest of my sentiment from the Sunbeams Stamp set and adhered it to some colored cardstock.

Make sure you hop over to the CAS-ual Friday Blog for more inspiration, peeks and a giveaway!

It's Saturday, woot woot!  And I have a bright and happy card to share that I've created with a mix of ADORNit products as well as Zig! Clean Color Markers...

This panel is part of the Think Happy Thoughts Watercolor Book.  I LOVE these little watercoloring books as they are easy to take on the go, they can be used for lots of various projects (think framing, card making, even for pocket pages!), and the images/sentiments are awesome!  I wanted an image that really popped so I used my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers and a water brush.

Sending Big Hugs With The Ton

Hello and Happy Valentine's Day!!!  Today I'm popping in with another for fun card (what the heck is going on here, free time for fun, say what?!) playing along with the February Challenge hosted by The Ton Stamps:

Today's card is quite a bit different from the one I shared on Saturday.  This time I've gone totally classic and romantic with a larger 5 x 7" watercolored card.

To create this card I started with Stratton Watercolor 140# Card stock. I heat embossed the large peonies image from the Sending Peonies Stamp Set twice with Gold embossing powder. I then used the wet on wet approach for adding my first layer of color.  Once this was completely dry I went back over the flowers with my Clean Color Brush Markers to add contrast and details.  Again I let this dry completely before stamping the sentiment with a Versafine Ink and added blue shading around the edges with a foam applicator and Distress Ink.  I had thought about adding sequins, but whenever I put them on the card it just didn't feel right, so I left it as is and reminded myself that sometimes less is more.

I am also linking this up to the Simon Says Stamp: Wed. Challenge Fantastic Florals
Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

CAS-ual Fridays Release Day 4!!! YAY!

Woot woot! It is Day 4 and the products are available today from the latest CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Release!!!  Don't forget to grab my code to save some money when picking these newbies up!

Now onto today's projects!  My first card is a sweet Congratulations card using the Daisy Chains Stamp Set...

To create this card I stamped the daisy chains twice on pink paper, heat embossed it with Stamp N Bond and then went over them with gold flakes.  Next I fussy cut around the top of one and the bottom of the other and adhered them to my cardbase.  I then stamped my sentiment from the Heartfelt Sayings Stamp Set in the center.  I used The Sisterhood Sparkle Limited Edition Sequins to add some more shine and movement and finished it off with some ribbon.

My next card is a round of applause for Michele and her incredible release, featuring the Full On Floral Stamp Set.

My initial plans for this card was to heat emboss the large floral image with gold and then color it all in with watercolors, but after I embossed it I loved it so much the way it was I decided to go minimal with the watercolors and simply die cut my Bravo! out, watercolored it and adhered it back into place.  Just look at the shine on this baby...

Bravo Michele on another fabulous release!  Make sure you run over to the store to grab all of the newness to be had!  And don't forget to save with my discount code up top!  Oh, and giveaway goodness can be found on the CAS-ual Fridays Blog, so head there too!
