Ellen Hutson: Pin-sights Challenge GD

Totally Alice in Wonderland, right?  I had so much fun creating this whacky tag scene!  As soon as I saw the Snailed It Stamp Set I was sold!  It is so unique and full of great images to really let your imagination get creative.  And the Concertina Tag is another cool new product that is available.  You can choose to leave the tags together for fun scenes as I've created, or for a unique trifold tag look, and so much more.  Or you can choose to trim the tags and use them as three separate tags!  Love it!

Avery Elle + Ellen Hutson Mix Up

I just wanted to pop in one more time today to share this fun mix up card for the Ellen Hutson Mix Up Challenge with Avery Elle...

To create this card I actually used a left over die cut piece from a previous Ellen Hutson Challenge that you can see by clicking here.  I hate throwing things away and this is the perfect example as to why you never know what you can do with those scraps!  My scrap piece had been created by turning some of my Essentials by Ellen Bold Blossom Stand Alone dies into stamps, and I used various pigment inks.  I then diecut my panel and this is what I had left.  For the rest of my card I used the Avery Elle Geek Love Elements Die set and the sentiment came from the Avery Elle Sending You Stamp Set.  I added a few sequins and my card was finished! :)

Essentials By Ellen PinSights Challenge

Thanks... Ellen Hutson Pin-Sights Challenge

Hello!  I should say good evening as it is much later than when I normally post, but I just to get a minute to post a card I've created for the new GD call for the Ellen Hutson Pin-Sights Challenge, woot woot!  Recently I haven't had any time to get in my craft room as I have had some minor surgery on my foot that has turned out to be more painful than I thought it would be. Insert sad face.  But I made it my mission ( with some pain pill help, hehehe! ) to get a card made in time for the Guest Designer call, because it would be an amazing opportunity for any crafter.  Whew, now enough chit chat and time for some crafty fun...

To create this card I used my Essentials by Ellen Bold Blossom Stand Alone dies to make my own stamps out of craft foam :) And it worked! Woo hoo!  I have a few photos to share on these as well...

After die cutting the roses and leaf images out of white craft foam, I ran them through my Xyron Create a Sticker Machine and adhered them to my clear blocks.  I then inked them up with Memento Luxe Ink.  I haven't used these inks in forever, but I LOVE how bold the coverage was and it just seemed to fit using craft foam with a soft foam like ink pad.

Once my panel was completely stamped and set to dry I die cut the bottom with a My Favorite Things Stitched Basic Edges die.  I then chose to die cut a piece of vellum with that same edge die and layered it slightly under the stamped panel.

Finally, for the sentiment I stamped the thanks from the Fancy Thanks by Julie Stamp Set from the Essentials By Ellen Collection with black Luxe Ink and embossed just the bottom half with gold embossing powder.  And of course I needed some Pretty Pink Posh Bling to top it all off.

Thanks... Ellen Hutson + Neat & Tangled Mix Up Challenge

Hi!  I'm popping in this evening to share a card that I made based on the latest Ellen Hutson Mix it Up Challenge.  This time we were to mix our Essentials by Ellen goodies with Neat and Tangled goodies, and this is what I've created...

To create this card I started out stamping and embossing the Fallin Circles Stamp Set by Neat and Tangled onto a panel with some WOW! Embossing Powder.  I then stamped my thanks from the Essentials by Ellen Fancy Thanks Stamp Set onto clear acetate and heat embossed it with a gold embossing powder.  I cut the thanks out and start playing around with various patterned papers and colors to mix with the two.  Next I poked around in my die cut scraps pile and found this flower from the Essentials by Ellen Wild Garden Die set that was already cut in sparkly gold (score!) and the little gold circle.  Once I layered all of the goodies together I went back and added a few gold sequins, and ta-da!

Winnie & Walter and Ellen Hutson Share the Love Day 5

Hello!  I am back!  Now I am sharing my Winnie & Walter with Ellen Hutson Share the Love Day 5 creation with you.  We were to use the gorgeous mood board seen below for inspiration...

I was immediately drawn to the mix of pinks in several photos as well as the pop of gold and florals.  So here is what I created...

This card is a happy mix of Essentials by Ellen Bold Blossom Dies and the Winnie & Walter Happy die and smaller die pieces from the Audrey's Cutaways.  I used a happy mix of the Happy Day Stack by DCWV and some gold glittered card stock.

Winnie & Walter and Ellen Hutson Share the Love Day 3 & 4 Plus 1 More!

Hi!  Is that not the longest post title ever? bwahahaha!  Some days that's just how I roll.  Any who I've created a card today that was inspired by several challenges, and I didn't want to leave anyone out, so... I am adding it to them all! hehehe!  When I saw the Day 3 of Winnie & Walter and EH Share the Love week dealing with creating your own backgrounds I started by looking at my W&W stamp sets.  Finally it hit me!  The rectangle vase in the In Bloom: Lola's Bouquet Set was perfect for making a fun and graphic design with...

So I just went to town stamping the vase over and over making sure parts over lapped and that it looked like I had a nice mix of vertical and horizontal images.  Once that was done I thought, ok now how do I do a sentiment over that?  That's when the Share the Love Week Day 4 Challenge popped into my head to use something transparent... so vellum to the rescue!!!  I decided the Fancy Thanks by Julie from the Essentials by Ellen set would be perfect to heat emboss onto my vellum.  But it still wasn't finished looking, ya know?  So then the Winnie and Walter Gossip Column: Spectrum nailed it right on the head, so using distress inks in a rainbow of colors I wiped the colors right into the back of the vellum which really kept the background clean and simple, while my sentiment just pops right out.

Winnie & Walter with Ellen Hutson Share the Love and More

Hello!  Today I will be popping in through out the day to share some of the projects I've created for the Winnie & Walter with Ellen Hutson Share the Love Week of Challenges.  First up is Day 1: Floral Card...

 Now I knew I wanted to use the Wild Florals Die from Essentials by Ellen, but once I went through my scrap papers I found some bright and colorful papers and it reminded me of the Gossip Column: Spectrum that was all about Rainbows, so I decided to throw the two challenges together!  I think it worked out well, and I made sure every color of the rainbow can be found on this card :).  I embossed my Winnie and Walter Sentiment from The Big, The Bold, and The Happy Stamp Set with WOW! Embossing Powder in Frozen Berries.

May Pintrest Challenge with Essentials by Ellen

Woot woot!  I'm joining another challenge today: Essentials by Ellen May Pinterest Challenge...

And here is what I've created...

I loved the woodgrain background and the bright white heart so I mimicked this with the wood paper and the white embossing powder sentiment from the Fancy Thanks Essentials by Ellen Collection.  I then used the pink and salmon colors with a touch of gold foil.  I used MME On Trend patterned paper and the dies from the Wild Garden die set also a part of the Essentials by Ellen.

Mix It Up Challenge Take #2

Hi!  I am baaaack!  I have had some fun time while the little ones are napping and just had to play one more time with the Essentials by Ellen Mix it Up Challenge with Taylored Expressions, check it...

I just love when a product can take all of the thinking out of a project like this new Full Bloom die by Taylored Expressions and the gorgeous handwritten sentiment is from the Essentials by Ellen Fancy Thanks stamp set LOVE IT!  Just mix a few colors of card stock together, diecut, stamp and add one little dot and ta-da!!!

Essentials by Ellen Mix It Up Challenge

Hello!  It is finally Spring here in Ohio, yay!!!  It is going to be 68 today, woot woot!  Today I'm sharing a soft card that I've created for the Essentials by Ellen Mix It Up Challenge.  This time they are mixing it up with Taylored Expressions, and I decided to create a Sympathy Card.  I never like making Sympathy cards as I'm sure we all can agree, but they are good to have on hand.  I mixed the Wild Garden Designer Dies and Tailored Expressions Care and Comfort Set...

I diecut all of the florals from vellum for a soft elegant touch, and since I was using a colored background I decided to continue with the softer side of things and embossed the sentiment with clear embossing powder.  The sequins have two jobs: 1. They add interest and keep the card moving, 2. They are a great distraction and way to hide where you adhere the vellum to the paper.

GD for Ellen Hutson Pinsights Challenge

Ahhhh!!!  Did you read that title, and then re-read it again?!  ekkkkk!!!  I can not believe how honored I am to be asked to provide a little inspiration for the new Ellen Pin-sights Challenge, take a look at this beautiful photo that is sure to get your crafty mojo reeling...

And here is a little about how this challenge works...The Essentials by Ellen Pin-Sights challenge is a monthly inspirational challenge based on a Pinterest Inspired photo that is located on the CLASSroom blog. A random challenge participant will receive a $50 gift certificate to the Ellen Hutson store.  To be eligible, you MUST use Essentials by Ellen products and the photo badge as inspiration. There will be an inlinkz on the challenge post where you can submit. 

Now onto what I've created based on this challenge...

My favorite thing about this card was my labor of love homemade coverplate.  I love the look of coverplates and the intricacy they express on a project, since I don't own any of the Essentials by Ellen coverplates as of right now I figured I'd just make my own.  I started by choosing one of the floral dies from the Wild Garden Designer Dies set by Julie Ebersole.  I then took a trimmed panel of foiled yardstick and drew a slightly smaller rectangle on the backside.  I used this drawn rectangle as a guide for where to line the top cutting plate with the die and paper so that I would receive only partial cuts around the outer edge of the panel.  Next I randomly cut the entire floral image on the inside of my panel, while this does cut the full image I simply adhered it back in the same spot I cut it out from once it was placed onto my cradles.  I then diecut a frame in a gorgeous green card stock, matching the greens in the inspiration photo and adhered it with foam adhesive..  I stamped and embossed a heart image from the Fancy Thanks Stamp Set by Julie Ebersole, before trimming it and adding it to the lower right hand corner of my frame.  Finally I stamped my sentiment from the same stamp set, trimmed the card stock at an angle and finished it all off with some clear sequins.

Hello!  So my life was upside down there for a bit with the renovation projects, but the results were totally worth it.  I haven't had a minute to take any pictures of it yet, but as soon as I do I'll share some pictures here :)!  Anywho, today I took a moment to just free my mind and play with a challenge for fun, and when I saw the Mix it Up Challenge with was Essentials by Ellen and MFT I just had to play along...

To create this card I used the Bold Bloom Die from Essentials by Ellen mixed with the LJD Together Forever Stamp Set by MFT Stamps.  Nothing too fancy to explain than some basic die cuts and stamping in the lower right corner.  I then used a mix of Pretty Pink Posh and V's Sweet Ideas Sequins.

Thanks... An Ellen Hutson + Mama Elephant Challenge

Hi!  Today I'm happy I was able to find a little play time and I've made a card for the Essentials by Ellen Mix It Up Challenge using the Essentials by Ellen with Mama Elephant goodies!

To create this card I used the Essentials by Ellen Bold Blossom Stand alone dies by Julie Ebersole and the Mama Elephant Party Kit Stamp Set.  I started by trimming Crate Paper Craft Market Designer Paper and stamping my sentiment on the trimmed strip.  I then diecut the leaves from the Bold Blossom die set from vellum and heat embossed the tips in gold before adhering them behind my strip.

This card came together rather quickly and I like it!  I am also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Thanks

Altenew + Ellen Hutson

Hiya!  Today I'm playing along with the Essentials by Ellen June Mix-It Up Challenge with Altenew... woo hoo!!!  Two great companies mixed, sounds like my kind of challenge...

Supplies Used:

Vellum with Foil: DCWV
Gold Foil: DCWV
Sequins: Pretty Pink Posh
Ink: Versafine and Colorbox

This card is a very clean, simple, and easy to replicate card.  There are no real tricks, other than I used vellum to diet with, and for the leaf I chose to leave the center pieces intact.  Sometimes a simple card is all that is needed.
