Frappe Love with Mint Owl Studio

Hello, hello!  I've had extra posts this week, yay!!! Today I'm popping in with another post for the Coffee Loving Carmakers Spring Blog Hop, The Paper Girls #100 Challenge - I used lots of paper, and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Food and Drink...

To create this card I started by stamping the frappe image from the new Coffee Craze Stamp Set by Mint Owl Studio.  I then colored it and cut it out.  The coloring technique I used was inspired by Sandy Allanock's Magical Monday Copic Coffee and Frappe Shop.  It was so fun to try myself!  I then decided to keep it with the Spring theme I needed lots of bright and happy colors so I found patterned paper by Heidi Swapp diecut a panel, banner and heart.  I stamped my sentiment in the heart, layered it all onto the cardbase and stamped hearts.  Sadly I wish I had stopped with the first three hearts I had stamped, but I got a little heart happy and ended up with this, hehehe!  I added a few clear sequins for shine and adhered the drink with foam adhesive.  You will also find this card posted on the Mint Owl Studio blog today! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today and Happy Crafting!!!

Gone Fishin' Layout and new Magicals Technique

Hello!  Today you will find me sharing a cute layout of my husband with our youngest on her first time fishing here and on the Nani Ke Ola Blog... I'm also going to share a new technique I used with my Magicals to create my own patterned paper.  First let's see the layout...

To recreate this look you will need watercolor cardstock, Magicals by Lindy's Stamp Gang, a Stencil, Paint Brush, Mini Mister, and a Baby Wipe.  I adhered my stencil to the watercolor cardstock with washi tape to keep it from moving.  Next I spritz the whole paper with water in my mini mister ( any spray bottle will work ).  I then dipped my paintbrush into my magical powder, one at a time, and tapped it onto the openings in the stencil.  I did this randomly with various colors until each butterfly in my stencil had some of the Magicals pigment on it.  I spritzed the stencil one more time and then gently went over each butterfly with a wet baby wipe.  Slowly remove the stencil and ta - da!  I love when I can create my own designs like this, and if I were going for a more specific color pallet I could work with just one or two colors.

I was also inspired by the Paper Issues: Mister Fix It Challenge

Thanks so much for stopping by today and Happy Crafting!

Winnie & Walter Take #2

I'm super excited to share this next take on another one of the Winnie & Walter Birthday Bash Challenges, as I've gotten my shaker on...  This card was created based on the Mood Board Challenge...

Isn't it dreamy and yummy all rolled into one?  Oh I LOVE it!!!  So here is what I created...

yay!  I love how this turned out!  Once again I got creative with my The Big The Bold and The Merry Stamp set and did a little masking to create my You & Me sentiment.  The papers are from Heidi Swapp Dream Collection and DCWV glitter cardstock.  I began by heat embossing and then watercoloring over my sentiment.  Next I diecut my frame, added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins, and created the shaker box element.  I die cut the hearts from more glitter cardstock and adhered to the patterned paper panel.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Winnie & Walter
Die: Lawn Fawn (hearts), Spellbinders (frame)
Cardstock: Ranger Watercolor, Diecuts With A View, Heidi Swapp
Sequins: Pretty Pink Posh

Thanks for stopping back by and hope you have a wonderful rest of your day!

Don't Forget Your Old Stash!!!

Hello!  With CHA going on it is so hard for us crafters to think of anything other than all of the new, new, new glorious stuff about to hit stores, but don't forget about that beautiful old stash that once had that "new" feel to it too!  So today I am up on the Nani Ke Ola Blog sharing this layout I've created using the Mixed Media Collection by Heidi Swapp... psssttt... and guess what else?  It only took three products to create the whole thing!  woot woot!!!

When I first new I wanted to use some older stash, but was looking for some inspiration on which one to use I went to the Let's Capture Our Memories Color Spot Challenge and that's when I knew that Heidi Swapp's Mixed Media was the one!

And psssttt... did I also mention that this collection is currently on sale?! So if you don't already own it and love the products I've used here you can get it right now for a great price!

Happy Crafting!!!

Mama Elephant and Me! Take #2

Hi!  So today I am sharing a card that I feel is a bit different than my norm, but I had so much fun thinking outside of my little box and I love the results.  This card is based on the latest Mama Elephant and Me Challenge: Paper Piecing + Thanks...

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Mama Elephant (sentiment: Say What, "hot air balloon": Lights Out)
Ink: Memento, Jeni Bowling
Patterned Paper: Heidi Swapp
Embossing Paste
Stencil: Studio Calico
Washi Tape
Star Sequins
Twine: Hemptique

I started this card by trimming my sun ray patterned paper.  I used chalk ink around the edges and then stamped the thanks so much off once before stamping it on to the patterned paper.  I then stamped the light bulb image onto various patterned papers and created my own hot air balloon!  After I added this to my cardbase I added my stenciling and let dry.  I then finished with the sequins, washi tape and twine.

Hope you liked my out of the box card today!
Happy Crafting!
