Be Original!

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  I'm popping in to share a card that you will also find up on The Alley Way Stamps Blog today.  I have used the super cute Penguin's On Parade Set, it has quickly turned into my favorite TAWS set, as I'm sure you've seen how much fun us DT girls have had getting crafty with it hehehe!  Here is my sweet card...

Come on, it's a chubby adorable bee!!!! I LOVE it!!!! To create this card I started by stamping my little guy in his bee custom on separate cardstock, colored him with Copics and my Faber Castell Design Memory Craft Brush Black PITT Pen.  Then I fussy cut this little guy out. ( PS - for you lucky ladies who have a cutting machine did you know that Alison also makes the SVG's available for her stamps? Score!)  I then used the negative of a die cut and blended some Distress inks together and then flicked some silver spray mist over it.  I then stamped my sentiment above the left side of my heart.  I popped my little guy up with foam adhesive and added some black enamel dots.  Finally I adhered it all to some Dear Lizzy Patterned Paper.

I am entering this into the following challenges:
AAA Cards: Maskerade Challenge
4 Kids Challenge: Anything Goes
Marker Pop Challenge: Anything Goes with Markers

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope this little guy has spread some smiles!

Anything But a Card Challenge

Hello!  Today starts a new weekly challenge at SweetStamps.com, and we are asking you to share anything but a card with us this week!  I decided to make a blank tag... sometimes I like to have these on hand so I can just write my own sentiment on the back and use it for any gift giving needs I may have...

To create this tag I started by diecutting my tag shape first and then layering with two shades of purple Peerless Water Colors.  I made sure to lay lots of water on my tag before dropping the colors in and letting them mix.  I then diecut several butterflies out of scraps I had sitting on my desk.  The top layer is cut from a cardfront I had messed up on, but was already colored with various distress inks... I think I found the perfect solution for it, don't you?

I hope you will join us this week and share your anything but a card projects with us!

Masculine Thinking of you...

I rarely remember to make masculine cards, especially thinking of you type cards, but when I was looking at the Altenew Challenge picture with the darker wood colors and my new Altenew Stamp Set Wild Hibiscus and saw a Bird image that I thought would work perfectly for what I had in mind...

I stamped the bird on watercolor paper and then used my new Altenew mini inks to watercolor with. (I tried showing a video of me doing this, but I sort of failed and didn't realize you had to hold the button to record on instagram, oppps!)  I then diecut the bottom and added the wood paper, where I stamped my sentiment from the Sentiments and Quotes Stamp Set also by Altenew.  I then added some twine around it and left the card as is.  The diecut paper was adhered with foam adhesive to help add dimension.

This card was also based on the 200th Freshly Made Sketches Challenge:

Hope you are having a lovely Sunday!

Forever Grateful CAS Design

Hello!  Happy Saturday to you!  We have such gorgeous weather, and I am so excited because it is perfect for when we go to the REDS game this evening.  A little side note of bragging rights... my Dad's company ( the one he owns and has started from the ground up ) has created the statues found around the REDS stadium of some of the greatest players.  Today they are unveiling the Tony Perez statue that he has created and in lieu of payment he asked them to give him a section at the game so he could treat his workers, their families, as well as all of our family so we are super proud and honored to be going tonight.  If you are ever at the stadium and happen to see some of the great statues around now you know a little about who made them :)!

Anywho, I'm popping in to share this super simple card that I have created for the Freshly Made Sketches 200th Challenge:

And for the Altenew Monthly Challenge:

I have used the new Wild Hibiscus Stamp Set as well as some Altenew Inks.  For a little sparkle I mixed some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Post for a Cause

Hello!  Today I'm doing something a bit different.  I was recently contacted by a very sweet and strong woman named Heather Von St. James.  Heather is a mother, wife, fellow blogger,  as well as a Cancer Survivor and she is celebrating her 10 years free of Cancer, more specifically of Mesothelioma, and had kindly asked if I would join her in her celebration.  At first I wasn't sure where to begin, but then I thought duh! You have a crafting blog, share something crafty along with some information!  So that is exactly what I am here to do today.

Please start by checking out Heather's story here on her blog.  It is an amazing one that is still being shared in bits and pieces.  Her story will have you crying and being in wonder of her strength and will to fight this Cancer that has changed her life.  I did not know much about Mesothelioma before reading her story, but I believe in the power of sharing and spreading awareness and hope my little part in this celebration does just that.

Since the Support Mesothelioma's Ribbon is pearl and gold I decided to create a card with those colors.  I also looked up their inspirational message, "Refusing Defeat",  and had to incorporate it in some how, so here is what I've come up with...

Heather and her story is truly inspiring, and one full of hope.  If you are looking for more information on Mesothelioma please visit their parent site by clicking here.  I have also attached a code you can add to the side of your blog to help raise awareness...

Mesothelioma Ribbon: Support Mesothelioma Awareness
Just Copy and paste this code:
Mesothelioma Ribbon: Support Mesothelioma Awareness

While I personally do not know anyone diagnosed with Mesothelioma, I have lost many dear people in my life to various Cancers and it sucks.  Plain and Simple Cancer Sucks.  I despise everything about it, but I know that there are people who have been able to beat their cancer's, and they are able to offer hope, courage, and strength to those who may be going through it and I am grateful for people like this and like Heather.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, and I hope you will join Heather in her celebration as well.
Many hugs, and Happy Crafting!

It's Wednesday... and my baby's ( my oldest really, but do they ever stop being your baby? ) first day of 1st Grade!!!! I am sure I am crying at the bus stop right now while this post is going live...  ok enough about my Mommy issues... because today I am wishing you a Super Day!

This little guy was created using The Alley Way Stamp Set Penguins on Parade along with the Happy Hero Set.  I just love all of the different ways you can mix and match these two sets, and on this card I decided to make him a little more Whimsical with the colors.  He's sure to find his way into my sons lunch box some day soon, and I hope he boosted your spirits a bit too!

A Little WoNkY...

Hello and Happy Wednesday!!!  I am sharing a fun and bright card that is sure to left anyones spirits here and on The Alley Way Stamps Blog.

This little guy was made by first diecutting a panel and stamping this fun little floral image and brush from the Unique Peek Stamp Set ( This stamp set is only available this month as a freebie when you spend $40 or more, so start filling up those carts! hehehe ).  I then stamped the sentiment in grey first and created a shadow ( let's be honest it kind of looks blurry ) effect by stamping it slightly off to the side in black.  I then colored my images in with lots of bright Copic Markers.  To add to the "wonkiness" of this card I adhered my panel at an angle on some Crate Paper Patterned Paper before adding some shiny sequins.

I am linking this happy card up to the following challenge:

Exciting Weekend...

Hello!  I'm back ( scroll down to find my giveaway!!! ) with even more great news today... I had one awesome weekend and met some awesome people!  This past weekend I was fortunate enough to get to go to Stampaway USA, where lots of other crafters and companies came together for one big show.  I was in heaven... and star struck is an understatement!  This was my first time going to any type of show... and after being to one, I am def. hooked!  When I first came in and bought my ticket the lady said, " Oh and Tim Holtz is here..." I was like "shut the front door!"  and then continued to squeal like a school girl on my way into the room.  When I saw all of the amazing goodies  in rows before me I just couldn't stop smiling.  My husband said I was actually glowing, bwahahaha!  So then it happened... there was the amazing Tim Holtz... crafting... in front of ME! eeeekkk!!!  I'm still giddy just thinking about it... and here is so awesome proof...

And let me just tell you he is freaking awesome!  He is just so down to Earth and fun!  I don't know what I was expecting but I was even happier than I thought I would be when I first heard his name.  I also came away learning a thing or two about some of the Ranger products, so double score!

The next person I met just might be one of the nicest most sincere people I have ever met.  Who am I talking about?  How about Heidi, own and founder of Simon Says Stamp.... eeeekkkk!!!!! Absolutely loved her!  I happened to see her in the booth and at first stopped to ask her some questions, I recognized her but didn't want to just shout it out if it wasn't really her.  And she was so fun, nice, helpful and energetic.  I just had to ask her for a photo with her as I couldn't believe I was standing there chatting and laughing it up...

Seriously she is amazing!  I still get giddy just looking at my pictures, hehehe!

Anywho, I just had to share how much fun I had with these amazing people and give a little shout out!

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Feel Better Soon...

Hello and Happy Monday!  I am back here with my second post for the day... go here to see my all blue beauty that I shared earlier this morning... and you will find this card here and on The Alley Way Stamps Blog.  Once again I am playing with that ever loving happy little penguin from the Penguins On Parade Stamp Set, but this time I made her into a little chick hehehe!  And she is going to make all of your boo boos go away quick...

To create this card I grabbed several things that were laying in my scrap pile and got busy layering.  I stamped the little chicky and hat onto separate cardstock and colored them in with my Spectrum Noir Colored Pencils.  I then fussy cut her out and set her to the side.  Next I stamped my sentiment from the More Than Words Stamp Set on a die cut white panel.  I then added the circle again from my scrap pile, popped the chicky up with some foam adhesive and added a band-aide as the perfect embellishment.  The clear Sequins added just enough sparkle to set the whole thing off!

I am entering this into the Virginia's View Challenge: Embellishments

Many Thanks... SweetStamps.com Anything Goes

Good morning beautiful people!!!  I'm popping in this Monday morning to share my take on this weeks Anything Goes Challenge at SweetStamps.com.  Before I share the lovely photos I wanted to remind you that All products are welcome in our challenges, so I hope to see you link up  something you create this week.

Now let's get onto my project.  I vary rarely think to work with just one color, but lately I've been browsing back through old PaperCrafts Magazines and came across this whole Winter Blues Section and it really sparked my interest.  So I sat down and pulled out a set I absolutely adore called Leaves... this whole set has a zentangle look to it and I love the fun/funky patterns on them so I thought this would be the perfect set for the look I was going for...

To create this card I started by using Curious Metallic Cryogen White Cardstock.  See the gorgeous sparkles this paper has in it?! Love!  Then I began randomly stamping leaf images in Royal Blue all over the front of the card.  Next I partial die cut a piece of vellum and set it to the side.  I then stamped my frame and sentiment from the Framed Handwritten Stamp Set.  I also stamped a few of the completely covered leaf images and fussy cut it all out before adhering together.  I then adhered the sentiment and leaves to the vellum with foam adhesive before  adhering the vellum to the front of the card.  Finally I added some Silver Rhinestones.

I am entering this into the Just Us Girls: Trend Week Challenge Vellum

I hope to see your creations in our Anything Goes Challenge this week for a chance to win a shopping spree!

POW! BAM! BANG!

Hello!  What better way to start a Wednesday than with CAPITAL LETTERS and in your face explosives?!  Ok, scratch that, no answers needed hehehe!  Today I'm popping in to share this card I've created with the new Alley Way Stamps Penguins on Parade, Happy Hero and an older set called KA-POW.  I just love it...

Isn't she just so fun?!  My son is totally loving this Happy Hero set too!  To create this card I started by stamping the penguin and her cute little outfit onto separate cardstock, coloring her in and then cutting her out.  Next I laid her on my blank panel to figure out where I wanted to stamp the explosive images and sentiments.  I then colored all of these in what I felt resembled Comic Book colors.  It needed a little bling so I added some gold stickles around the explosions.  Finally I added my Wonder Woman Penguin with a wobble so she can move around being her bad self hehehe!

I am entering this into the Marker Pop: Anything Goes Challenge as I used Copics on this baby!

V's Sweet Ideas Anything Goes

Hello and Happy first of the month!!!  And just like that August is upon us!  I can't believe it!  Anywho, I am here today to share my project(s) for the newest V's Sweet Ideas Challenge, and you are all going to love it as it is an Anything Goes!!!! Woo hoo!!!!  With school days peeking around the corner I thought this would be a good time to make some lunch box notes for my little man, and V's Sweet Ideas Little Notes Stamp Set is perfect for this!  ( Sorry this set is currently sold out, but keep your eyes peeled for when it comes back in stock it is a keeper! )

Aren't they fun?  And these are so simple to whip up that I went ahead and made a small stack of them to have on hand!  To create this little guys I started by die cutting the small stitched rectangle from Lawn Fawn out of an older Lawn Fawn Paper Stack called Dewey Decimal, and it's perfect for my project.  I then stamped all of my images, colored them and fussy cut.  Finally I stamped my sentiments and added various embellishments and foam adhesive. Ta-da!

Hope you've enjoyed my little project and that you'll get a chance to play along!

I am also adding this into the Marker Pop: Anything Goes Challenge as I colored my images in with various Copics.

Ugly Sweater Time...

Did you enjoy The Alley Way Stamps Blog Hop this weekend?  Isn't the new little Penguin guy from Penguin's On Parade Stamp Set so cute?!?!  I just love all of the ways you can change him too with the Every Day's A Holiday and Happy Hero Set!  So needless to say you will probably be seeing a lot of this little guy/girl around here this month, hehehe!  Today's card I've dressed my little Penguin up in a ridiculously ugly sweater to go along with the fun sentiment in the Every Day's A Holiday Stamp Set, check it out...

To create this card I started by stamping y little guy on separate cardstock.  I then stamped the classes, sweater image, and ornaments.  Next I went back and colored everything in with Copics before fussy cutting.  I then created my background by stamping the sentiment and some Christmas lights from the older Jolly Holiday Stamp Set, and colored those in matching Copic Colors.  I decided he needed a little snow to stand on and grabbed some white stickles to cover the bottom.  Finally I went in with some distress ink for the sky color.  Once I mated my background in black and patterned red I adhered my little penguin with foam adhesive.

I am linking this up to the Marker Pop: Anything Goes Challenge, as well as the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge.

Stop by The Alley Way Stamps Blog for more inspiration and fun uses for these great new stamps!
