Winnie & Walter Christmas Cards...

Hello!  Just a short post today as life is super busy with the kids being off school, and holiday goodness, and Christmas card orders to fill.  (side note please don't forget to enter my thankful giveaway only two days left!!!)  I created these cards the other night based on the latest Winnie & Walter Play Challenge #4:

I've been wanted to play along for a while, and I'm so happy I was able to sneak these in...

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Winnie & Walter The Big the Bold and the Merry
Die: SweetStamps
Washi Tape: Teresa Collins
Ink: Papertrey Ink
Distress Stains
Stickles in silver
Rhinestones: Recollections
Sequins: Pretty Pink Posh
Perfect Pearls Mist by Ranger

I was so excited when I finally got my hands on this Winnie & Walter Set, it is gorgeous and has sooooo many great uses!!!  This is a def. must have during the holidays!  To create this card I started by running two different distress stains over water color paper, I then flicked some perfect pearls mist onto it and let dry.  Next I diecut the deer, adhered the washi strip, stamped the sentiment, adhered the deer and embellished two different ways.  My husband likes the one with the silver stickles, I like the one with the rhinestones and sequins, so I will be splitting this order and making half with stickles and half with sequins hehehe!

Hope you have enjoyed and thank you so much for taking the time to visit me!

Sparkling with The Alley Way Stamps

Hello!  I hope your weekend is going well, and that you are getting at least some time to breathe.  I'm just popping in on this beautiful Sunday morning to share a fun, bright and sparkly card that you can also find on The Alley Ways Stamp Blog...

This card was a lot of fun to create!  I started by stamping these gorgeous large snowflakes ( from the Winter's Butterfly Stamp Set ) with My Favorite Things Hybrid black ink.  I then went through and colored randomly with Distress markers before going back over with water and a brush.  LOVE the results!  I then cut one corner of the panel off before adding lots of Stickles and setting to dry.  I then stamped my sentiments (also from the Winter's Butterfly Stamp Set that is free this month with any $40 purchase!) at an angle and layered it all together. yay!!!

Happy Friday!!!  This is my second post of the day, so make sure you scroll down to see an owl turkey... oh you read that right, owl turkey 'nough said hehehehe!

Now onto this post!  It's time to share some new inspiration for the Be Inspired Challenge, always hosted by the amazing Alley Way Stamps, woot woot!!!  Remember you are playing for a chance to win stamps and be a Guest Designer, so make sure you link up with us!  Don't have any Alley Way Stamp Sets?  That's ok, Alison offers freebies for everyone to have an equal chance!

Check out what I've created this time...

For this card I started by stamping my "box border" by using the Tag a Longs Stamp Set and coloring them in with various copics.  I then stamped the sleigh and little penguin guy from the Jolly Holiday Stamp Set and colored them in too.  Next the trees were stamped on separate cardstock, colored and fussy cut out before adhering to the card.  Last came the sentiment from the All Wrapped up set and some snowflakes!

I am adding this little guy into the following challenges:

Have you ever seen an Owl Turkey?

I have!!!  And you are about to see one too! hehehehe!  This adorable little image is from one of the newer SweetStamps.com Stamp Sets Called Fall Owls, and it has some pretty hilarious little guys getting ready to spread Thanksgiving cheer...

And when I saw that super cute little guy at the bottom there I was like... " An Owl Turkey!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!"  and so he is shinning brightly on this little card that I also happen to be sharing on the SweetStamps.com Blog as well!

Full details on how this card came together can be found on their blog, but no fancy shading just good ol' coloring and fussy cutting was all this little guy needed! :)

Love a Good Pun...

Hello!  Happy Hump day to all of you!  Sometimes when making card I just can't help but smile or giggle as I amuse myself with often a good pun... The Alley Way Stamps usually have some super cute ones and today I've busted one out from their new Tea Par-tea set.

I've also added a fun interactive element to this card as it will wobble when you touch the little teapot!  hehehe!  Yep... I'm just full of entertainment today folks! : )  Anywho, to create this card I started by stamping the teapot onto separate cardstock and coloring with various copics.  Next I added some polka dots with a white gel pen.  I then fussy cut and added glossy accents for a "porcelain finish".  I created a fun little border on my card base with the small tulip image in this stamp set and colored these in with copics as well.  Once the tea pot was dry I adhered it with an adhesive wobble (not sure of their technical term, sorry!), added the sentiment and some pearls.

I am adding this little baby into the Through the Craft Room Door: Anything Goes Challenge

Stop by The Alley Way Stamps Blog for more inspiration with their new stamps!

Altenew November Challenge

Hello!!!  It is a super cold day here in Ohio and all of our snow is frozen to the ground... thank goodness for heating! (even if I probably don't want to see the bill hehehehe!)  Today I am popping in to share my take on the latest Altenew Challenge:

And here is what I created...

I really drew a lot from the colors in the inspirational photo, and I loved the purple and pink flowers.  I also wanted to use a muted gold accent as I felt the photo showed almost a vintage gold look.  It was fun to really play on darker cardstock as I don't tend to use them as my base very often, but I just might have to put it into rotation.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Altenew (Hennah Elements, Sentiments & Quotes)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Versamark
Embossing Powders: Fine Detailed White (SweetStamps.com) and Vintage Gold Enamel (Piccolo)
Color Medium: Various Copics
Mister Huey in White
Enamel Dots: MME

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful rest of the day!

Twinkle, twinkle...

Happy Monday!  I hope you have had a wonderful weekend!  Ours was very full and full of love... my sister-in-law married a wonderful man and we were all a part of the big day!  So, so happy for them!  It also happened to be my husband's birthday, so double yay!

Anywho, I'm up today on The Alley Way Stamps Blog with a super sparkly card... yay sparkles!!!  I created this card using a mixture of old and new stamps: Line Upon Line and Out of This World

To create this card I stamped the Line Upon Line Background Stamp Set in blue.  I stamped the sentiment strip, trimmed and adhered it down the center of the background.  I then added glossy accents and chunky silver glitter to the edges.  I then added fine glitter to the star wood veneers and scattered them with a few clear sequins across the card.

I am also adding this to the following challenge:

Metallic Christmas

Hello, and Happy Friday!!! yay!!!  So happy to be here today sharing this pretty new Christmas card with you all.  This card is also being featured on the SweetStamps.com blog, so be sure to stop by and check it out as well as play along in our current layers challenge for a chance to win a $10 gc to the store!

Now back to my card...

I used a new technique (at least to me) on this card and I'm just so excited with it's results!  To create my background I started with Geo Triangles Stencil and white embossing paste.  After removing the stencil, and while the paste was still wet, I sprinkled 24k. Gold Embossing Enamel and heat.  It sort of bubbled up at first, but then smoothed out as the embossing enamel spread.  The results are truly gorgeous, and I have a few upclose photos to show...

Christmas Tag with gilding

Hello!  Today I'm up on The Alley Way Stamps Blog with a Christmas Tag.  I really had fun with this tag and tried something new... gilding.

Tips:
  • Using darker colored cardstock really helps the gilding to pop off the page.
  • There are several ways to adhere the flakes and I chose to use a heat and bond embossing powder, so make sure you have lots of flakes on hand to rub on quickly after heating.  I then used my finger to rub it onto the cardstock.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: The Alley Way Stamps ( Making Holidays Bright )
Ink: Versamark
Gilding Flakes
Embossing Powder: Piccolo
Rhinestones: Recollections
Die: My Favorite Things

I am linking this up with the Frosty Festivities Linky Party... so many amazing projects to see you will not want to miss it!

Wishing You...

Hello, hello!  The other day I had some time to create for two of the current Verve Challenges... Naturally Navy Diva Inspiration Challenge and the Viva la Verve Nov. Week 1 Sketch...

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Poppy Birthday Stamp Set by Verve
Inks: PTI and Memento Tuxedo Black
Patterned Paper: DCWV
Embossing Folder: Letter Press
Die: Spellbinders
Pearls: Recollections
Copics

To create this card I first embossed a rectangle slightly smaller than the card base.  Then I added my trimmed patterned papers.  Next I die cut and embossed a circle, before stamping my sentiment.  The flowers and leaves were stamped on separate cardstock, fussy cut, and adhered with foam adhesive.  The pearls were the icing on the cake!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
