Happy Barkday!

Hi friends!  I'm back again with a just for fun card this week.  I've been dying to join in a few of the MFT Challenges that they run on their blog, and I finally had some time to play around...

This card was based on the MFT Color Challenge...

To create my card I used the colors from the challenge to color my images from the Little Buddies set in ( the animals were based on my own two furry critters, but the rest of the colors match ).  I then cute the images out, added a hat from the Birthday Bears Set.  I then adhered my images onto a few cuts from one of by MFT Blueprint die sets.  Complete with some MFT plaid paper.  Throw on a few confetti sequins and bam!  Card complete and perfect for a boy like my son.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and Happy Crafting!

Michele's 50th Birthday Bash Blog Hop!!! (Giveaway)

Woo hoo!!!!  I am so honored to be on Michele's Team as a Girl Friday, she is absolutely one of the sweetest and funniest crafty ladies around.  I wish you the very best Birthday Michele with lots of fun, some relaxation, and loads of laughter!

If you are hoping along then you should have arrived here from the amazing Penny Ward's Blog, if not you can always start at the beginning. Now let's get onto my Birthday card that I created with Michele in mind...

hehehe!  I LOVE the Shenanigans set and especially this sentiment.  For my card I've used the Heartfelt Sayings Stamp Set to stamp two of the sentiments repeatedly onto my panel.  I then went over the panel with Distress Oxide Inks and added a few splashes of water.  While the panel dried, I head embossed my other sentiment from the Shenanigans Stamp Set with white embossing powder onto black cardstock.  I then trimmed this sentiment at each word and used foam adhesive to help make this the main focus of the card.  Since this card is fun and bright I adhered it at an angel over a black and white striped patterned paper.  As a final touch I adhered some black rhinestones to the stamped panel and added a staple to opposite corners.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today as we celebrate such a wonderful woman!  There are a few blog hop details too:

  • This hop is open for commenting until April 23rd at 11:59 pm EST.
  • There are 5 $50 gift cards being given away!!!  1 will be found on the Company Blog, and the other 4 will be chosen from random comments along the hop!
Now you are on your way to my amazing, kind, and uber talented crafty friend Virginia Lu!

Fabulous!!!

Hi!!!  Today you will find me over on the CAS-ual Friday's Blog sharing a totally glam and fabulous card with all of you...

I love the fun large sentiments in the Bomb Diggity Stamp Set, so I decided to really let my Fabulous shine.  To start this card I heat embossed part of my sentiment and a few splash images onto my kraft cardstock with white embossing powder.  I always love the classic look of kraft and white, don't you?  I knew I was going to add gold to my card so I went ahead and added some flicks of gold spray to the panel as well and then set it to the side to dry.  Next, I went to work on my fabulous part of the sentiment.  I really wanted this to stand out so I embossed the word onto white cardstock and added both gold and rose gold embossing powder for two tone look.  Before adding this to my kraft embossed panel I adhered some foam adhesive to the back, and then a mix of gold thread.  Of course no card is totally glam without some added bling, so I finished my card off with a mix of rhinestones.

Feeling fabulous yourself and want to grab some CAS-ual Friday Goodies?  Here's a coupon code just for my readers to use...

A Muse Studio Release: Hip Hip Hooray!

Hi!  Are you having a good week so far?  I've been having a blast playing with the new A Muse Studio goodies that will be available at the end of this week for you to buy! YAY!!!  Today I am playing with the Hip Hip Hooray Stamp Set, this set is small with two images and a sentiment, but I love finding as many ways as possible to use sets like this for a bigger bang for your buck.

To create this card I started by stamping the cake and cupcake images all over watercolor cardstock to create a fun background.  To color the images in I used my Zig Color Clean Markers and then added water to blend the color out.   For the sentiment I stamped and embossed it with White Embossing powder onto Onyx Cardstock.  I then adhered the panel to the Onyx Cardbase.

Did I mention that this set is your FREE with any $50 purchase?!  Awesome!!!!

Final Post for MarkerPOP

Hi, I'm here with you for one final post.  I am so sad to say that this is my last post for the team, but I also want to give my sincerest thanks to the entire MarkerPOP team for having me this past year.  I have had a wonderful time, and the products/service offered by MarkerPOP has always been amazing.

With all of that said I've created a happy little Birthday scene with some Studio Katia products.  To create my card I first diecut my patterned paper with the STAX Stitched Creative Window Die.  I used this as a template for where I would stamp the images from the Kobi the Birthday Bear set.  All of the images where colored with Spectrum Noir Markers.  Kobi was stamped on separate cardstock and hand cut after he was colored in.

For added depth and dimension I used foam adhesive strips and finished the card off with a few sequins.  Thank you so much to all of you who have continued to visit the MarkerPOP blog, and to those of you who took the time to leave me comments.  Your words were always appreciated.

Happy Crafting!

CAS-ual Fridays Release Preview Day 1

Woot woot!  It's time for some new CAS-ual Fridays goodies to make their debut with 4 days of fun, inspiration, and of course GIVEAWAYS!!!!  So let's get this party started with a peek at the new set called WTF 2.  This stamp set is a sequel to the WTF Set that was discontinued, and has a few fun play on words.  Plus it's perfect for those Over the Hill Celebrations...

These sentiments make me laugh!  Love the big WTF, and how it has your mind going else where lol.  For this card I chose to stamp my background first and color all of the 40's in with a mix of bright Spectrum Noir Markers.  Next I stamped, colored, and cut the WTF out popping it up with foam adhesive.  Finally I added what the WTF stood for onto strip of white cardstock backed with black.

Make sure you head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Blog for more inspiration, peeks, and giveaway details!

STAMPlorations Birthday Blog Hop

Woo hoo!  It is time to party my friends!!!  Welcome to Day #3 of this fun Blog Hop with STAMPlorations!  I have only joined the STAMPlorations family within the last year, but I must say that from the moment I joined I felt like I belonged and that I was one of this talented family.  And now I get to celebrate their 4th Birthday by sharing some cards made with a few of the amazing new products that are available now!

For this first card I've used the Star Shaker Balloon Die along with the Balloons and Banners Stamp Set.  I was so excited with I saw this die set and how it work.  I love the intricacy to it, and that it matches the Banners Stamp Set perfectly.

And I have one more card to share with a little more of a masculine feel...

STAMPlorations has released several new word and die sets and the kudos one seemed perfect for this occasion.  I stamped the sentiment first with versa fine ink onto the cardbase.  Next I stamped it again over the left over star die cut from the first card.  I popped the star up with foam adhesive.  The confetti was first stamped with white pigment ink, and it was gone over with bright colored dye ink.  The frame came from my scrap stash, and I thought it added a nice touch.

90th Birthday with Altenew

Happy Monday!  I was asked to create a card for a family members 90th Birthday, and as I was looking around for some inspiration I came across the latest Altenew Challenge and I immediately had an idea, so I went with it...

To create this card I used the Altenew Beautiful Day Stamp Set.  I started by embossing all of my images onto a heavy weight vellum with Gold embossing powder.  I then colored them all in with various Copic Markers, using the colors in the Inspiration photo.  Once they were colored I fussy cut everything out and started arranging them onto my cardbase.  I also die cut some numbers in gold foil.  Tips about coloring on vellum: Use darker colors than you might think if you want them to really show through, also give the coloring some time to dry before adding the next color.  Here is a close up of the shine...

I wish I had better photos to share with you of this card, and how beautiful it is in person but unfortunately it needed to go out in the mail right away and it just so happened to be a stormy day, so I had no luck with lighting.  However, the point of this card is to make someone happy and I'm sure it will have done just that.

Thanks so much for popping by today and Happy Crafting!

Born Classy : The Ton Stamps Challenge

Hello!  So I'm popping in on a Sunday to share a fun watercolored card based on the Ton Stamps Challenge: Celebrate!  I love the Ton Stamps, and recently they had an incredible release followed with a new monthly challenge blog, eeeekkk!!!!  So here is my take on the challenge...

As I was in need of a Birthday card I reached for my Born Classy Stamp Set and just had fun!  I love the fashionably elegant girl and the way you can personalize her dress.  I started by watercoloring her and her dress first.  Once this was dry I added in my background.  All of my images were stamped with Versafine Ink, except for the gold dots which were stamped and embossed in gold.  I added one final touch of shimmer to the panel by flicking some paint from my Gansai Tambi Starry Night Watercolor set.  I then layered the panel with a strip of Burnished Rose Gold Foil Tape on the left hand side.  And of course it needed some sequins to complete the look, so I busted out my Gala Invitation and Purple Ball Gown Couture Mixes.

Wishing You - Marbling Take #2

Hiya!  If you happened to stop by yesterday then you were able to check out my first take on the new Gossip Column with Taheerah Atachia  all about Marble.  Today I am showing two more cards created from my own homemade marble papers.  This first card uses my marbled pieces in two different ways... 1. as an embellishment and 2. as a background...

Isn't this just so cool?!  I can't stop playing with these things I tell ya!  Take a closer look...

To create this card I used the Winnie and Walter Dies: The Essentials: Audrey Cutaways for the background panel, and the True Multifaceted Star Cutaway.  I layered the star with some foam adhesive.  I then stamped my sentiment over my panel from the Wishing You Stamp Set in an archival ink.  I then finished this card off with some silver enamel dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I'll be back later with one more marble card to share!
Happy Crafting!

Make A Wish - CAS Challenge

Hi!  Today starts a new Clean and Simple Challenge on the STAMPlorations Blog and it's the first one of the new year, woot woot!!!  This month we are challenging you to use silver and or grey.  Now this is just an optional twist, but I always find it so much fun to include these in my projects.  Take a peek at my card for today...

To create this card I started by stamping and masking the balloon image from Kathryn's Big Wishes Stamp Set.  I then added the string and began coloring then in with various Copic markers.  Next I stamped and embossed some little dots on my cards with a glittery silver embossing powder.  I stamped the sentiment  from the same stamp set with a gray Memento Luxe Ink.  I then adhered it to a grey panel and added some silver stars.  I just love how soft this card is, and without the challenge twist to use grey or silver I'm not so sure I would have gone in this direction.  But that's what these challenges are for... to challenge you! :)

I can't wait to see what you will create this month!
Happy Crafting!
